New Law Shines Light on Corporate Payments to Physicians

An article on which I provided writing and editing support for Footnote1.com that explores both the potential benefits and unintended consequences of the Physician Payment Sunshine Act (PPSA). Financial relationships between physicians and the pharmaceutical and medical device industries are commonplace; the PPSA attempts to shed light on the problem by requiring pharmaceutical, healthcare, and medical device companies to disclose all payments they make to physicians and teaching hospitals. The problem is that it can be difficult for patients to know which relationships should be cause for concern.  Read more here.
